Houston-based public relations and social media firm Integrate Agency has a new CEO after its previous top executive joined a new energy company.
The firm has promoted its chief marketing officer, Paul Colgin, to the top executive role, effective Oct. 1. He succeeds Robbie Wright, who served as Integrate's CEO since it was acquired by Austin-based Wellington Group Marketing & PR in 2018. Wright had been CEO and co-owner of Wellington prior to the acquisition, and the combined company kept the Integrate name.
Colgin joined Integrate in November 2019 as the company's CMO. In this role, he was responsible for all marketing activities, including digital advertising, social media, SEO, e-commerce, website design and more.
Before he joined Integrate, Colgin was the CEO of Source Vital Apothecary, a Houston-based skin and body care manufacturer. Colgin also served in various executive positions at Houston-based companies Direct Energy, Bounce Energy and WhiteFence. Wright co-founded Houston-based Bounce Energy, which was acquired in 2013 by Houston-based Direct Energy for $46 million, and also worked at WhiteFence, an e-commerce home services company.
"I know Paul is the best person to lead the team of our creative and talented employees," Wright said. "After being a business partner with Paul over the last 10-plus years, I have experienced first-hand the creative and strategic acumen he brings in leading the company's expansion to meet the growing demand of our clients by fostering ongoing innovation and a collaborative work environment."
According to Wright's LinkedIn, he is now the CEO of Energy Texas LLC. The company will focus on giving Texans the freedom to choose the electricity they want and need," per the LinkedIn page.
Visitors to the Energy Texas website will encounter a countdown to the company launch, which is 12 days from today's publication.
The Houston Business Journal reached out for more information about Energy Texas.
Wright isn't the only Integrate executive to leave recently. Allie Danziger, former president and founder of Integrate, left the company earlier this year to start another business - this time, in the education sphere.
Ampersand, a for-profit company that teaches soft business skills and connects young professionals with internships, was founded last year amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Danziger, who co-founded Ampersand along with Kathirin Applebaum and Scott Greenberg, wanted to form a company that utilized her skills for giving career advice.
In January, Integrate Agency acquired BriteIdea Marketing Group, an Austin-based digital marketing firm. Financial terms were not disclosed. After the deal closed, the combined company had 28 employees, with three based in Austin and the rest in Houston. However, Integrate has had an Austin presence over the years, with as many as eight people based there previously.
